How we design binders for flat protein surfaces
A new preprint shows our approach for targets without a deep pocket.
Most small-molecule drugs need a pocket to hold on to. Many disease proteins have no deep pocket: the site that matters is flat.
Our new preprint shows how our model designs binders that hold a flat surface with many small contacts. In the lab, 31 of 48 designs bound their target with a KD under 1 µM, measured by biolayer interferometry (BLI). The preprint has not been peer reviewed.
