KL-204 · Immunology
Ulcerative colitis
A small, stable designed protein that binds the IL-23 receptor, made to act in the gut. In lead optimization.

Why this target
The IL-23 pathway drives inflammation in the gut. Antibodies that block IL-23 are approved, and an oral peptide that binds the IL-23 receptor is in late-stage trials. Most of these act on the whole body.
Our approach
KL-204 is designed to stay stable in the gut and bind the IL-23 receptor there. The goal is to act where the disease is, with less exposure in the rest of the body. We are now improving its strength and stability.
KL-204 is investigational and has not been tested in people.
